AgriFutures Australia is committed to supporting the next generation of leaders that will drive the future prosperity of Australian rural industries and communities. The AgriFutures Horizon Scholarship is awarded to students studying an agriculture-related undergraduate degree or a Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths/Finance (STEM) degree with relevant majors which align to agriculture.

About the program 

In partnership with industry sponsors, the AgriFutures Horizon Scholarship is an initiative supporting students enrolled in full time study at an Australian university by providing:

The Australian Wildlife Society’s 精东传媒app Research Grants are offered to honours or postgraduate students at Australian universities conducting research that contributes to the conservation of Australian wildlife (flora or fauna). 

Ten 精东传媒app Research Grants are awarded each year: one $5,000 scholarship and nine $3,000 grants. The Dr Clive Williams OAM Memorial Wildlife Conservation Scholarship is awarded to the highest-ranked applicant of all our 精东传媒app Research Grants. 

Grants may be used to purchase equipment and consumables, travel expenses related to field research, or attend a conference where the student presents their research.

Applications must be received by 31st May. One entry per applicant. Applicants must be a member of the Society. Successful applicants will be notified by email in July.

The Australian Veterans’ Children Assistance Trust (AVCAT) Scholarships include Long Tan Bursaries and Sponsored Scholarships.

Long Tan Bursaries are for the children and grandchildren of Vietnam Veterans and are funded by the Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). Each year 37 bursaries are awarded to successful applicants across Australia.

AVCAT Sponsored Scholarships are for the children and grandchildren of ex-serving veterans. These scholarships are funded by ex-service organisations, corporate and private donors.

All bursaries and sponsored scholarships are for tertiary education and are $4000-$6000 per year, for up to three years.

Applications for scholarships open each year on 18 August and close on 31 October.

Designed to support high potential future leaders, the recipients of BCG First Nations Internship and Scholarship will receive $20,000 in scholarship funding, participate in an 8-week internship, and a mentor through the remainder of their studies.

BCG is looking for driven, curious students from all backgrounds who are excited by a challenge and want to have a positive impact on their communities, whether local, national, or global.

The Berndt Research Foundation invites applications for its 2026 grants and bursaries. The foundation welcomes applications from researchers undertaking work in Australian Aboriginal Social and Cultural Anthropology, and cognate disciplines. The foundation awards a specific grant for:

  • Honours students (Honours Bursaries)

Two bursaries of $8,000 are awarded in support of honours students studying Australian Aboriginal Social and Cultural Anthropology, or cognate disciplines, at any Australian university, one of which is reserved for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.

  • Early Career Researchers (ECR Grant)

The ECR Grant provides $10,000 to support Aboriginal Social and Cultural Anthropological research, or cognate disciplines, by an early career researcher from any Australian university.

  • An open grant to support Australian Anthropological collections research (Small Grant)  

The Small Grant scheme funds between $10–15,000 towards the costs associated with accessing and researching an aspect of an Australian Anthropological collection. One award is given annually to a researcher engaged in Australian Anthropological collections-based research in an academic, professional, or public capacity.

APRA and the Reserve Bank of Australia have established the Brian Gray Scholarship program in memory of Brian Gray, who died on 24 August 2001 while serving as Executive General Manager of APRA's Policy, Research and Consulting Division.

The Brian Gray Scholarship program will fund up to four scholarships annually, to the value of $15,000 each. The scholarship purpose is to support final year Honours and PhD students in finance, actuarial science, econometrics, statistics or related disciplines, who intend to focus full time on their studies and research. 

Under this Scholarship program, the recipients will devote a substantial amount of time to an agreed research topic and present their findings to APRA upon completion of their research. As part of the scholarship, the Brian Gray scholars will be able to access APRA and RBA expertise in the research and development of their thesis.

Logan City Council and some of the most respected organisations in South East Queensland have combined their resources to provide financial assistance to young people in Logan who wish to undertake tertiary studies.

Students from families with limited financial resources are encouraged to apply.

Successful applicants receive a $5,000 bursary in instalments for each semester, or trimester, of a three-year course.

The Clare Burton Memorial Scholarship was established to honour and continue the work of Dr Clare Burton, a leading researcher, public sector administrator, academic, consultant and writer on employment equity. It is funded by the Clare Burton Memorial Fund, which is held by QUT.

The Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships Program provides up to $40,000 to new undergraduate and up to $20,000 to new postgraduate teacher education students.

In return for a scholarship recipients need to teach in government schools or government-run early learning settings after finishing their degree.

Industry Experience Placements (IEP) provide university students enrolled in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) degree the opportunity to complete their Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programs with the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG).

The Summer Vacation Placement Program (SVP) is a great chance for university students completing their studies to get a taste of what it is like to work in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) career. Eden Emerald Mortgages Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in a university program, with a strong academic record and a keen interest in finance, business, or related fields.

The First Nations Cancer Scholarship Program is funded by the Australian Government through Cancer Australia. Established by the Aurora Education Foundation and Cancer Australia, the First Nations Cancer Scholarship (Scholarship) will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduate students, health professionals, and early-career researchers (ECRs) to undertake full-time postgraduate study (graduate certificate, masters or PhD) or research in a cancer-related field. The purpose of the Scholarship is to support Scholars in building the skills and knowledge required to inform strategies to improve cancer outcomes for Indigenous communities and increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders in cancer-related fields.
 
Up to four scholarships will be awarded yearly from 2024 to 2026. Administered by Aurora, each scholarship is valued at up to $120, 000 AUD per year, for up to three years. The Gary Sansom Scholarship aims to uncover future chicken meat industry supporters and leaders, providing funding and additional support to help students make their mark on the industry right from the beginning.

The Scholarship was established in honour of former AgriFutures Chicken Meat Advisory Panel Chair and Australian Chicken Meat Federation President, Gary Sansom, who himself was a great leader of the chicken meat industry. Mr Sansom was a long-standing supporter of programs encouraging new people into the chicken meat industry and championed several communication and training initiatives vital to the industry. This Scholarship in his name aims to do just that, encourage new people into the chicken meat industry and support them to build a thriving career in the industry.

The Scholarship, worth up to $30,000, will seek to identify high-quality students, foster a career pathway in the chicken meat industry and support industry-relevant research.

The Equity Rural Placement Scholarship Program is an initiative of the National Association of Field Experience Administrators (NAFEA) to provide financial assistance to students experiencing financial hardship to undertake placements/work integrated learning activities in rural and remote settings. It also provides financial assistance to students living in rural and remote areas experiencing financial hardship who are required to relocate to metropolitan areas to undertake placements/work integrated learning activities.

Approved applications will be awarded scholarships up to $2000.

Funding is provided to assist students with the out-of-pocket costs incurred as a direct result of the placement. These are costs which are additional to everyday living expenses and are incurred as a direct result of a placement requiring relocation, including travel costs and accommodation.

Neville Bonner's life is a study not only of courage, conscience and compassion in the face of extraordinary adversity, but also of personal and national reconciliation.

Established in the year 2000 by the Federal Government, the Neville Bonner Memorial Scholarship is Australia's most prestigious scholarship for Indigenous Australians to study Honours in Political Science (or related subjects) at any recognised Australian university. One Neville Bonner Scholarship may be awarded each year.

Political Science may be broadly interpreted to include such subjects as government, political geography, political history, political anthropology and political economics. The Selection Committee may also consider application from other subject areas (consistent with the broad aim of the Scholarship) where there is a political component to the proposed thesis.

The scholarship is valued at approximately $34 315 per annum.

The NSW Health Aboriginal Nursing and Midwifery Scholarship and Cadetship Program provides targeted support and financial assistance to Aboriginal people undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate nursing and midwifery studies. 

This program aims to strengthen and grow the Aboriginal nursing and midwifery workforce, promote culturally safe care, and improve health outcomes for Aboriginal communities. The Pinnacle Foundation provides educational scholarships, mentoring and opportunities for young LGBTIQ+ Australians to realise their full potential. Scholarships are awarded for full-time study at public institutions of higher education in Australia, for the purpose of gaining an educational or vocational qualification in any profession, trade or the arts. 

To be eligible for consideration for a Pinnacle Foundation Scholarship, you must meet every one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • At least 18 years of age and younger than 27 years of age on 20 January in each year for which the scholarship is sought
  • Have achieved good or reasonable scholastic results given your circumstances
  • Will be undertaking fulltime studies at a public tertiary institution (including TAFE or university)

Dr Arnold ‘Puggy’ Hunter is an outstanding and highly respected Aboriginal leader who dedicated much of his life to improving health and wellbeing outcomes experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Puggy was a pioneer within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled sector, including serving as the inaugural chairperson of the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation.

Named in his honour and to continue his legacy, the Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship provides scholarships to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to succeed in their undergraduate studies.

The scholarship provides access to financial, cultural, mentoring, and other supports for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying in health, including access to up to $15,000 per annum (full time) for the normal duration of the course.

These supports are administered under Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community control through Indigenous Allied Health Australia and the National Association of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners in partnership with Rural Doctors Network.

The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) offer a unique opportunity to study a two-year Master's degree in a low or middle-income Commonwealth country.

The Real Futures Grant offers a one-off payment of $5000 to support students pursuing careers in healthcare, medicine, business, or finance.

Scholars are selected on the basis of their exceptional intellect, character, leadership and commitment to service. A Rhodes Scholarship supports you in full-time study at the 精东传媒app of Oxford. You can choose from a wide variety of courses.

Each year, there are nine Scholarships available for Australia.

The first Australian Rhodes Scholars took up residence in Oxford in 1904, and since that time many hundreds of Australians have been awarded the Scholarship.

Of the nine scholarships available each year in Australia, each state offers one Scholarship that is awarded by a selection committee of seven members (including three Rhodes Scholars) based in the state. In addition, there are three Australia-at-Large Scholarships awarded by a selection committee based in Canberra. This selection committee will consider applicants from the ACT and other territories of the Commonwealth, as well as those candidates nominated by state selection committees. SafeFish plays a vital role in supporting Australia’s seafood trade by addressing food safety and market access challenges. To build capability in these areas and foster the next generation of researchers, SafeFish offers a grant to a passionate postgraduate student undertaking a research project focused on food safety or market access for Australian seafood. Projects may explore issues such as contamination hazards, public health, risk assessment and management, supply chain impacts, traceability, or seafood fraud.

The grant provides $10 000 per annum (indexed annually) for one to three years and can be used for research-related expenses, conference participation, collaborative placements, or publication costs. In addition to financial support, recipients gain valuable networking opportunities with industry and government, exposure for their research at a national level, and potential career pathways within the seafood sector. The Stronger Smarter Institute’s Teachers of STEM Initiative supports First Nations women in gaining a recognised STEM qualification and building careers in education. Successful applicants receive scholarship assistance to help cover study-related costs, along with mentoring, networking, and collaboration opportunities. The program also offers customised professional development that incorporates Indigenous pedagogies, as well as guidance on STEM-specific teacher courses and access to relevant student support and financial services.

The Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) is a one off payment of up to $5000. It’s to help eligible students with the cost of moving to study. This is for study after you’ve finished year 12 or equivalent.

To get the payment you must move from a regional or remote area for tertiary study.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is offering scholarships to students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and are enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma in engineering or a related discipline at a recognised Australian tertiary institution. Applicants must have completed at least one semester of study and be able to undertake a minimum of 30 days of paid work with TMR each year.

This scholarship can help cover various study expenses, including course fees, textbooks, study materials, tools, equipment, accommodation, and travel costs. We are committed to empowering students on their journey toward a successful career in engineering.

Each year, Vision Australia awards Further Education Bursaries to a select number of students who are blind or have low vision.

The bursaries provide adaptive technology to help students fully participate and succeed in their chosen studies. The Waalitj Foundation Indigenous Scholarships Program aims to increase the number of Indigenous Australians with tertiary and trade qualifications, improving employment outcomes, particularly in the resources sector.

Each recipient works with a mentor to create an Individual Career Plan, ensuring tailored support. The program is delivered in consultation with Traditional Owners and adapted to local community needs. Priority is given to Traditional Owner groups within Shell’s QGC operating area, with Waalitj Foundation partnering with Shell’s QGC to deliver the program.

The Toowoomba Regional Council is proud to offer the annual William Groom Scholarship to local residents aged 18–24 who will begin their second or third year of a full-time UniSQ degree or a TAFE Queensland Darling Downs & South West diploma next year. Applicants must have graduated from a local high school, attended for at least two years, and currently live in the Toowoomba Regional Council area. The scholarship provides $5000, paid in half-yearly instalments.

Established in 2004 to mark Toowoomba’s centenary as a city, it honours William Henry Groom, the municipality’s first mayor and a former Queensland and Commonwealth parliamentarian.

Applicants must show strong academic results, community involvement, graduation from a local high school, residence in the Toowoomba Regional Council area, and plans to continue full-time study next year.

The Youth Off The Streets National Scholarship Program helps talented young people in need by providing $6000 over two years for education or training, plus mentoring and staff support.

The Zonta Young Women in Leadership Award recognises women aged 16–19 for leadership, volunteerism, and commitment to civic causes, encouraging their continued involvement in public and political life.

Since 1990, Zonta has given 1165 awards, totaling US$1,858,750 to 993 young women from 60 countries.

The program offers 37 international awards of US$5000, with applicants required to demonstrate volunteer leadership and support Zonta’s mission. Eligibility includes living in a Zonta district or being a citizen of a Zonta country. Previous recipients and Zonta members or employees are not eligible.
