Whether you're keen to start exploring orientation now or are starting after the study period has begun, you'll find everything you need right here.

You can access the platform 24 hours after accepting your offer.

Learn what to expect from your studies, explore support services, and get tips for settling in, all at your own pace.

Join us on campus or online during Orientation Week to meet teaching and support staff, connect with fellow students, and take part in sessions designed to help you feel confident and ready for your first few weeks.

You’ll find Orientation Week dates in the academic calendar for your study period, and more details along with will be sent to your UMail (student email) as the study period approaches.

For Trimester 1, 2026, you can expect an invite early in 2026 so keep an eye on your inbox!

Missing orientation or starting your studies after the official study period begins can feel overwhelming. We've gathered insights from both UniSQ staff and students just like you, resulting in our .

  1. Reach out to your Course Coordinator
    Your teaching team want you to be successful! today to introduce yourself and find out how to get started in your course.
  2. Seek help early
    We're here to help you and have a range of support services that are welcoming, free and confidential. You might like to start by making an appointment with a Learning Advisor. They can help you plan your assessment and get on top of your first assignment.
  3. Get on top of assessment
    • Check your assessment due dates in 精东传媒appDesk and mark them in your calendar.
    • Plan your first assessment task. Start by reading the information available in the Assessment Tab in 精东传媒appDesk, then work your way back through the course content from there.
    • Request an if you need it.
    • Complete the . You need to complete this training every 12 months before you can submit your assessment. It will take you between 30-60 minutes to complete.
  4. Catch up on course material
    You will need to get across your course material, including weekly 精东传媒appDesk tasks and readings. Some helpful tips are:
    • Source your required textbooks and learning materials.
    • Review the in 精东传媒appDesk
    • Check your in 精东传媒appDesk for information about what tasks and readings need to be completed each week.
    • View your and go to your classes and tutorials - this is a major predictor of success!

  5. Connect with your peers
    Reach out to your fellow students early. Connecting with other students will give you a chance to share information and study tips. You’ll need to get connected quickly if your course has a group activity assessment. Here’s some strategies to get started:
